Mick Hucknall: 'Glorified karaoke competitions' stealing limelight from songwriters
Thursday, Oct 20th 2011 at 10:11AMThe former Simply Red frontman made the plea as he was honoured with an award at a lunchtime ceremony at London's Savoy Hotel yesterday by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA).
Hucknall, who was one of 12 award recipients at the 38th annual Gold Badge Awards, said: "What I find a little sad about is nobody has the imagination to try to make the backroom boys a little bit more interesting."
