Google lawyer appointment fuels music service rumours

The search engine company has hired Elizabeth Moody, who previously worked at US legal firm Davis Shapiro Lewit & Hayes, where clients include Spotify, MySpace Music and MOG.

It is expected that Moody will start working at Google at the beginning of August.

Rumours have been growing in the past few weeks about Google's music plans, with a suggestion of a download offering launching this year ahead of a streaming subscription service early next year.
