Hosted by Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian the ceremony saw Metallica collect the Kerrang! inspiration gong, Rage Against The Machine inducted to the magazine's hall of fame and Sheffield rockers Def Leppard acknowledging their classic songwriter award via a video message.

Slipknot were also in attendance to be declared Kerrang! Icon while the biggest winner of the night proved tobe LA's 30 Seconds To Mars, who received the awards for Best Single for From Yesterday and Best International Band
