Nothing says summer like sun, sea, sand and blue skies. But what to wear? Here with an answer to that question is BoohooMan, the menswear division of online fashion retailer Boohoo.com.
As well as showcasing some bold looks, the company’s summer 2017 spot features the savvy use of Know My Ting by Ghetts (feat. Shakka). MOBO Award-winning Shakka’s hook is nigglingly catchy, the classic accessible counterpoint to Ghetts’ harder grime bars.
Jonny Eckersley, marketing manager, BoohooMan, enthuses about the combination. “We were on the lookout for a catchy, upbeat track that encompasses our values; being young, bold, fresh and exciting,” he says. “Know My Ting was suggested and we knew straight away it would be a hit.”
Simon Pursehouse, director, music services at publisher Sentric Music, calls the track “one of my favourites of 2017 so far”, adding that, “every single time I receive a new song or feature from Shakka and his management I get even more excited about how strong he’s becoming as a songwriter.”
Released in January, the track could receive a welcome boost as a result of the sync. As Charlotte Robson, creative sync & licensing assistant at Bucks Music Group, concludes, its potential was clear from the start.
“We’ve been excited about Know My Ting for a while and have been playing it at top volume in the office every week for months,” she says.
