Downtown Music Publishing is opening offices in Paris and Sydney. The company currently has operations in New York, Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Tokyo.
The new offices will be focused on investing in local songwriters and artists as well as marketing and promoting Downtown's catalogue.
The expansion follows recent appointments in the UK, where Downtown has made new signings including Goldie and Kano.
In Paris, the company has recruited Laura Bedikian as A&R manager, Charles Braud as creative licensing director and Armel Bernard as copyright coordinator.
In Sydney, Downtown has appointed Rachel Kelly as creative director and head of sync, covering Australia and New Zealand. She was previously creative director at BMG Australia.
Downtown CEO Justin Kalifowitz said: “On behalf of everyone at Downtown, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Charles Braud, Laura Bedikian, and Armel Bernard in Paris and Rachel Kelly in Sydney. Working closely with our teams in New York, Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Tokyo, we look forward to investing in the next generation of local songwriting talent and helping their music reach the global stage.”
