Annual publishing revenue in the US currently stands at around $2.2 billion – but publishers are still missing out on an extra $2.3 billion every year.
That’s according to 2013 figures from National Music Publishers’ Association members. It’s the first time that the organisation has been able to quantify total industry revenue and value in the US.
The NMPA estimates that performance licensing makes up 52% of the total publishing revenue followed by mechanical licensing (23%) and sync licensing (20%).
