Combined UK sales of music, video and games dropped 12% in 2012 despite the digital market exceeding £1bn for the first time, according to the Entertainment Retailers Association's newly-published Yearbook.
The book highlights entertainment retail sales were worth £4,213.4m overall across the 12 months with video sales dropping year-on-year by £178m, games declining £336m and music down £59m. Across a UK population of 62.3 million, each person on average spent £9.06 less on entertainment than they did during 2012.
