A record $267m was paid out by SoundExchange to record labels and performing artists in Q3 2014.
The $267m is 39.7% higher than the $161m paid out in Q2 and a 74% increase on the same period last year.
SoundExchange also saw its number of payees increase by 21%.
The $590.6m paid out by the organisation in the first three quarters of 2014 is slightly more than the $590.4m paid out for the whole of 2013.
