PRS for Music chief executive Robert Ashcroft delivered a speech at the PRO's 2015 AGM today, which he used to outline a number of issues preventing publishers and songwriters getting "fair value" for their work.
Among the obstacles highlighted by Ashcroft were the continued battle against piracy, hindered by unhelpful safe harbour legislation, and the shift from downloads to streaming, the latter of which Ashcroft said is not yet paying enough to songwriters.
