Cox to pay BMG $25m for copyright infringement
A US jury in Virginia found internet service provider Cox Communications guilty of copyright infringement and ordered to pay plaintiff BMG Rights Management $25 million in damages. BMG sued Cox — one of the country’s largest ISPs -- in November 2014, on the grounds that the company was not reacting swiftly enough when notified that some of its clients were infringing BMG’s copyrights.
