There has been a 73% decrease in advertising from the UK’s top ad spending companies on copyright infringing websites as a result of the the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit's (PIPCU) Operation Creative and the Infringing Website List (IWL), according to the City of London Police.
One of the key aims of Operation Creative was to reduce advertising on websites as it is one of the main generators of "criminal profits" from infringing sites.
