Copyright holders are currently targeting around 10,000 IP addresses a day that are suspected of engaging in piracy. This is expected to rise to 150,000 addresses a day in the coming weeks.
ISPs have to provide suspected infringers' contact details within eight days otherwise they face fines of EUR1,500 (?1,271) per day for each unidentified IP address. Infringers face fines or disconnection following their third warning.
