BMI president and CEO Del Bryant has issued an ‘open letter to the music industry’ clarifying Sony/ATV and EMI’s recent withdrawal of catalogues for digital uses – as well as outlining a new royalty processing agreement with the publisher.
Sony/ATV withdrew catalogues for specific digital uses from BMI at the end of last year, with Universal Music Publishing following suit at the beginning of this month. ASCAP, saw similar withdrawals.
