The 21% VAT placed on entertainment tickets in Spain has caused a dramatic slip in attendance figures leading to business closures and job losses.
That’s according to the heads of Spain’s entertainment associations, which sent an open letter to the country’s Prime Minister saying that the VAT increase from 8 to 21% two years ago “has led to frustration, anger and deep concern on the part of the entertainment sector”.
