New edition of Music Week out now

The new edition of Music Week is out now, and we welcome music business behemoth and YouTube global head of music Lyor Cohen to the cover.

Cohen sat down with us to mark the launch of YouTube Music, and let’s just say the results are explosive. Music Week posed questions covering all corners of the business and Cohen’s industry career, and he answered in inimitable fashion. You won’t want to miss this one.

Elsewhere in a jam-packed issue, we unpack the latest changes to the Singles Chart with the Official Charts Company and several key executives, while the news section also features some big label news from Sony Music UK boss Jason Iley and some innovative goings on at PRS For Music.

In features, we quiz a host of top industry names on their favourite albums and tracks of the year so far.

We cosy up with the biggest names in the neighbouring rights sector to hear about the innovations that are making it one of the most vibrant corners of our business; and we get the inside story of PRS For Music’s new live tariff and what it will mean for the touring sector.

Notting Hill Music chief Andy McQueen offers up his life lessons in this week’s Aftershow, while The Goo Goo Dolls’ Johnny Rzeznik looks back on classic single Iris in Hitmakers.

Polydor’s Becky Hill talks up her dance pop stylings in a revealing On The Radar interview, and there’s more new music in the shape of quirky indie types Sports Team in Making Waves.

Sigala continues his summer of sync with the trailer for F2’s Finding Football in Sync Story, while The Vinyl Factory’s Chris May is this week’s Tastemaker.

As well as all that, there’s all the very latest news, charts and analysis, including our brand new Apple Music charts.
