Tinie Tempah has spoken to Music Week about the plans for his new company, Imhotep, which operates as a music publisher, management company and creative agency.
“The vision was to create something that could nurture talent of all different disciplines, from music and art to fashion and graphic design,” said Tempah (real name Patrick Okogwu).
The new company complements the work of Disturbing London, which Tempah co-founded with manager Dumi Oburota as a 360-degree entertainment company.
Imhotep has an in-house studio for its music publishing roster, which includes Drake collaborator Nana Rogues, Not3s and Kali. The company has an admin deal with Sony/ATV.
Tempah, who has seven UK No.1 singles, insisted that he has no plans to step back as a recording artist.
“If anything, I just felt that it was going to add to the creativity,” he said. “I’ve got this massive studio full of all these artists, so there are definitely going to be collaborations.”
