UTA's London office in digital expansion

Leading booking agency UTA has hired digital executives Michael Ohene-Djan and Jamie Leeming to provide expanded marketing services for its clients.

Ohene-Djan (pictured, left) and Leeming (right) become the first digital executives to join UTA’s London office, where they will focus on creating and implementing strategies to support established and emerging UTA clients – with a particular focus on music artists – across a wide range of services, including social and digital marketing and brand partnerships.

Ohene-Djan has spent the past six years at Facebook’s UK office and brokered its partnerships with this year's series of The X Factor and the 2015 Glastonbury festival, while Leeming joins from Capitol Records where he spent the past three years as one of the company’s two UK-based digital marketing executives. Leeming helped artists such as Sam Smith and 5 Seconds Of Summer derive new social platform-based revenue streams, create innovative digital marketing campaigns and utilise best practices to connect more directly with their fans.

Muse and Paramore agent Geoff Meall, of UTA's London office, said: “Helping our artists navigate in a disrupted media environment requires more innovation than ever before. Michael and Jamie bring the right experience and entrepreneurial spirit to help our clients succeed. We welcome them to the UTA team in London and look forward to their many contributions.”

UTA’s London office was established through UTA’s acquisition of The Agency Group in August 2015, bringing artists to its roster such as Muse, Dolly Parton and David Gilmour.

Brent Weinstein, UTA partner and head of digital media, said: “Digital is a major part of UTA’s full-service commitment, and we’ve seen incredible results when our digital executives have worked with music artists and clients from all areas of the agency. With Michael and Jamie, we can ensure that our international clients have access to the same day-to-day creativity and expertise.”

UTA was the first major talent agency in the broadband era to establish a full-service digital media practice. The company has offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Nashville, Toronto, Miami and Malmo, Sweden.
