Spotify has struck a new partnership with Ticketmaster, which will see the streaming giant feature Ticketmaster gig listings on its artist pages.
Significantly, the deal sees Ticketmaster take the place of previous partner Songkick, though Spotify claims that it will continue to partner with Songkick for concerts not being sold via Ticketmaster. By combining listening data with purchase behavior, Spotify claims that it will now be able to refine its recommendations and and bolster its understanding of its user base.
Spotify will roll out its concert recommendation email service this week. It currently offers gig recommendations through its app.
The deal with Ticketmaster is the latest in a string of new partnerships for Spotify in 2016. Last month, it was unveiled as the official music partner of The X Factor, while a new global agreement with WWP’s Data Alliance was revealed yesterday.
Earlier this year, Dubset Media Holdings reached an agreement with Spotify to expand the global footprint of its MixBANK distribution platform.
