The O2 has retained its long-held position as the No.1 arena for worldwide ticket sales.
The London venue sold 872,809 tickets in the first half of 2016, ahead of AccorHotels Arena in Paris on 513,616 and Manchester Arena, which shifted 493,830. Mexico City's Arena Ciudad De Mexico and Cologne's Lanxess Arena placed fourth and fifth in Pollstar's mid-year rankings respectively.
At No.9, The SSE Hydro in Glasgow was the only other UK arena to crack the Top 10, recording sales of 358,271. Leeds' First Direct Arena was No.21 with sales of 235,835, followed by the two Birmingham venues, Genting Arena (253,316 tickets sold) and Barclaycard Arena (239,516) at No.22 and No.23 respectively.
Echo Arena Liverpool (No.32), The SSE Arena, Wembley (No.34) and Sheffield Arena (No.47) all made the Top 50, while Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena clocked in at No.57, having sold 143,884 tickets. The SSE Arena, Belfast, was No.71, selling 112,292 tickets. Dublin's 3Arena was No.16 on the list, with sales of 271,181.
