First Aid Kit have been announced as Friday night headliners at this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival.
The Swedish duo join a line-up that includes fellow headliners Patti Smith with her band and John Prine, who closes the festival on Sunday.
Janis Ian, Rosanne Cash and Rhiannon Giddens will be among the other artists set to perform at the festival.
First Aid Kit are currently aiming for a Top 5 finish with new album Ruins.
Cambridge Folk Festival’s Neil Jones said: “The addition of First Aid Kit cements a line-up that is both one of our strongest and most eclectic in years. The band’s performance is set to be a real festival highlight this summer, and their Friday night headline appearance continues what is a new era for one of the UK’s most loved and iconic festivals.”
This year marks the first for the festival to partner with the US Newport Folk Festival.
Cambridge Folk Festival will run from August 2-5 at Cherry Hinton Hall.
