Festival Republic and the PRS Foundation’s joint imitative to promote UK-based female talent, ReBalance, has announced plans for a series of live shows.
The scheme, which is currently offering studio time at Old Chapel studios to a different core female band, female musician or female solo artist for every month of 2018, 2019 and 2020, will stage a series of free gigs at London’s Old Blue Last.
The first ReBalance session will take place on October 22 and features Æ MAK, Maya Kally, Mary Miller, and Tamzene live.
All the acts are finalists on the scheme and along with studio time they have been matched with female producer mentors.
The shows are free but tickets can be booked online in advance.
Launched last year, ReBalance has received over 200 nominations across three rounds so far. In addition to the acts, the imitative also runs an apprenticeship programme at the Old Chapel studios.
