It exists to advocate, educate and provide information around issues which affect musicians and the industry that surrounds them. 

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Communications team in London. The first is in a Marketing and Publications Officer role and the second in an Events and Promotions Officer role.

MARKETING AND PUBLICATIONS OFFICER

35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) 

Your role will be to support the Communications & Campaigns team in the delivery of the marketing and campaigns strategy. Supporting the Communications & Brand Manager and External Affairs Manager you will deliver high quality written content for materials such as the annual report, press releases, briefing documents, debriefs, campaign evaluations, marketing and campaign materials, presentations, media statements, newsletters and blogs.

You will support the Communications & Brand Manager in day to day communications and PR, drafting publicity materials, planning and delivering PR activity, as well as handling marketing, partnerships, talent liaison and social media content. In addition to this, you will handle media requests, liaising with media and other external organisations.

To be successful, you must have previous experience in a marketing and/or publications role and a good knowledge of all areas of marketing, from traditional forms to online. With excellent, proven copy-writing skills, plus an interest in and knowledge of, all areas of music and the music industry. You must also demonstrate effective web management and database skills.

EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS OFFICER

35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) 

Your role will be to support the Communications & Campaigns team in the delivery of the marketing and events strategy and promotion. You will maximise the presence of HMUK, expanding the profile and reach of the charity at events across the UK. You will also support the delivery of charity owned events, internal events and meetings, taking responsibility for logistics, materials and ensuring the most efficient use of resources.

You will work with external providers to help develop and maintain resources around project management. You will support the team in developing, piloting and delivering project and event briefs, evaluating events, adhering to event budgets.

You will identify opportunities to work with a range of partners, assist with managing speaking and partnership opportunities to ensure efficient planning and delivery. You will support the communications of events and projects by handling media requests and producing copy to promote events, in line with the communications strategy.

To be successful, you must have relevant experience of project managing, planning and delivering events, as well as a good knowledge of all areas of publicity, marketing, events and promotions, from traditional media to online, writing and developing briefs, through to delivery. With strong copy-writing skills, plus an interest in and knowledge of, all areas of music and the music industry.
