Vevo has promoted JP Evangelista to head of content & programming.
Evangelista – who has been with Vevo from the start – will oversee music programming, original content, production, editorial, talent, events and label relations teams globally.
Based in New York, he will work closely with artists, managers, major and indie labels to secure, schedule and promote music videos, exclusive premieres, live events and other original programming across the platform.
“I’m extremely excited to be given the opportunity to lead the content and programming team globally for Vevo,” said Evangelista. “We have an incredibly strong team in place who will work to create unique original content and live production, while working with artists, management and labels to maximize reach and exposure for their content.”
The appointment follows the departure of SVP, creative content and programming, Tom Connaughton and CEO Erik Huggers.
Prior to working at Vevo, Evangelista held various positions in the eLabs and Global Digital Initiatives departments of Universal Music Group. He was one of several members of the UMG eLabs group chosen and tasked with building out the Vevo platform and helping launch the company.
