Apple Music has named Stefflon Don as the Up Next artist for January 2018.
The Polydor-signed rapper had a Top 10 single with Hurtin’ Me feat. French Montana, as well as collaborations with Skepta and Jax Jones. She was nominated for the 2018 BRITs Critics’ Choice award and won a MOBO award for Best Female Act.
Apple Music’s monthly programme identifies rising talent and promotes selected artists on the platform and Beats 1. Previous Up Next artists include 6LACK, Khlalid, Sigrid, Mr. Eazi, Daniel Caesar, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Claudio and most recently, Amy Shark.
Apple Music has premiered a new documentary short film, as well as an interview with Beats 1 anchor Julie Adenuga.
Stefflon Don makes her US national television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden tonight (January 17). The show has partnered with Apple to give further exposure to the Up Next Artists.
“Conversations with Steff are always exciting and hilarious. She doesn’t do a lot of interviews, and I learn more about her every time we talk," said Beats 1 anchor Julie Adenuga. “She’s extremely talented, and has the ability to make any style of music she likes without losing the magic of who she is.”
Stefflon Don added: “I am really excited to be the new ‘Up Next’ Artist. Julie, Zane, Ebro and everyone at Beats 1 have been there with me from the start, and it’s great to be the first British artist to get this support from Apple Music.”
Apple Music's Up Next coincides with other emerging talent campaigns from Radio 1 and Deezer.
